The Asian Games, also known as the Asiad, is the world's second-largest multi-sport event after the Olympic Games. Organised every four years by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and recognised by the International Olympic Committee, the Games showcase elite athletic talent from across 45 member nations.
The 2026 Asian Games will be co-hosted by Aichi Prefecture and its capital city, Nagoya, this edition marks the third time Japan hosts the Games, following Tokyo in 1958 and Hiroshima in 1994. An expected 45 national Olympic committees will compete across 43 sports and 71 disciplines for over 460 medal events.
